Some Information About Claims In General

• Do what you can to limit the loss. If there is a broken window, cover it with plastic. Do the same with a hole in the roof. Use common sense, but companies consider the cost of temporary repairs to be part of the claim.
• If you have a question, call the adjuster from the company. They are well trained and there to get your claims settled. But if that doesn't give you the service or clarification you need, call us anytime during the claims process. If something isn't going well, we need you to call us.

Common Steps In An Auto Claim

1. You can either report the claims to us, and we pass the information to the insurance company, or call your insurance company directly.  There is usually a claim number on your insurance I.D. card.  The next day we will usually receive a notice of the claim from the company.
2. The adjuster from the company will contact you, usually within 24-48 hours of being reported, and take a statement from you about what happened.
3. The company will usually want to inspect the vehicle. Either the adjuster will come to see the car, or send an appraiser.
4. You need to get 1 estimate from the body shop of your choice. Keep a copy and ask the body shop to fax or email a copy to us.
5. The insurance company will come to an agreement with the body shop regarding the cost of the repairs. The adjuster will let you know when it is OK to make the repairs.

4. You need to get 1 estimate from the contractor you want to do the repairs. Keep a copy and ask the contractor to fax or email a copy to us.
5. The insurance company will come to an agreement with the contractor regarding the cost of the repairs. The adjuster will let you know when it is OK to make the repairs.
